Why Choose Soy, Coconut and Plant-Based Wax?

At Vivid, we strive to create natural, plant-based candles and wax melts. Our candles are hand-poured using clean soy and our wax melts are made using a blend of rapeseed and coconut wax or soy. These plant-based waxes are biodegradable, vegan-friendly, and sourced from non-genetically modified, ethical suppliers who do not contribute to deforestation.

Soy, coconut, and plant-based waxes are completely renewable and free from harmful chemicals such as paraffin, acrolein, formaldehyde, acetaldehyde, toluene, benzene, and acetone. These substances, commonly found in conventional candles, are used to maintain colour and shape but can compromise air quality.

Soy wax, being a natural product, tends to expand, contract, and change over time. These 'flaws' are normal and indicate that you have purchased a genuine plant-based candle. After burning, the wax may develop rough, uneven tops as it cools and solidifies at different rates. This is a characteristic feature of soy and coconut wax, showing that no synthetic chemicals have been added.

Each of our candles is delicately scented to engage your senses without overwhelming them. Our fragrance & essential oils conform with IFRA standards, ensuring they meet safety requirements while maintaining the natural integrity of our products. The natural composition means that the candles may not always be perfect in colour and texture, but this is part of their charm and authenticity. Over time, the wax may change in appearance, which is a clear indicator of its natural origin.

Care & Instructions

-At the first burn, we advise you to keep the candle lit for at least 2 hours or until it reaches a full melt pool. This is to prevent any tunneling in the future.
- Place your candle on a flat, flame retardant surface, away from draughts, children, pets, curtains, furniture, etc.
-Trim the wick to about 3mm before each burn to extend the life of your candle. We would recommend you to burn your candle for 2-3 hours each time.

- Never move or leave candles unattended while burning.

-- Keep the wax pool free of wick trimmings, matches and debris at all times.

- Allow the soy candle to cool and harden before relighting it.
-One way of putting out the candle is by dipping the wick into the melted wax and straightening it back up to prevent smoking.

- Do not burn a candle all the way down. Extinguish the flame if it comes too close to the container.

- Extinguish a candle if it repeatedly smokes, flickers, or the flame becomes too high. The candle isn’t burning properly. Cool, trim the wick, then check for drafts before relighting.

To ensure an enjoyable and safe wax melting experience, follow these Wax Warmer Burning Instructions:

-Place your wax melts in a wax warmer or burner specifically designed for melting wax. Do not add water to the wax.

-Place your wax melt into the wax warmer's dish or tray, ensuring it doesn't overflow.

-Avoid leaving the wax warmer on for extended periods. It is recommended to use it for a maximum of 3-4 hours at a time.

-You can reuse your wax melt until the scent has faded. Once the scent has dissipated, remove the wax residue with some cotton while the wax is still liquid to absorb it and replace it with a new wax melt.

-To remove solidified wax from the warmer, briefly turn on the warmer for less than a minute until the bottom surface of the wax softens. This will make it easier to pull out the wax using some cotton.

- Never move or leave candles unattended while burning.

-Light the candle for some minutes and blow out the flame when there has some melt pool formed on the surface.

-Let the oil cool for one minute, pour the oil over the skin and gently massage it in.

-The first time, let the candle burn for however long it takes for the entire top to burn evenly. This will keep the candle from tunneling.

- Keep the wax pool free of wick trimmings, matches and debris at all times.

-Precautions: Always test skin sensitivity before use. Never use orally, keep out of reach of children and eyes, always check for medical issues that could cause a problem. Ask for help if in doubt.

-Before the first light, make sure you have 2-3 hours available for the candle and to burn while attended.

- Never place your candle near or next to anything flammable or anything that can catch fire.

- Always use a candle-holder specifically designed for candle use. The holder should be heat resistant, sturdy, and large enough to contain any drips or   melted wax.
- Place your candle on a flat, flame retardant surface, away from draughts, children, pets, curtains, furniture, etc.
- For best results, do not burn your candle for longer than 2-3 hours at a time for a pillar candle. Extinguish, let the candle cool down, trim the wick, and relight.

- Pillar candles are designed to hold the wax within the candle. When you first light your pillar candle, let the pool wax reach within 0.5cm of the outside   edge, then extinguish. Continue to do this step every time you burn the candle. Once the wax pool reaches 0.5cm to the edge, extinguish so it does not melt over. Unless you desire it to melt over!

- When burning many candles together, place them apart to prevent uneven burning.
- Allow the soy candle to cool and harden before relighting it.
- When picking up the pillar candle, please hold from the bottom of the candle. If you carry or hold the candle from the top it can easily be damaged or   dropped.

- Never move or leave candles unattended while burning.
- Keep the wax pool free of wick trimmings, matches and debris at all times.

- Do not burn a candle all the way down. Extinguish the flame if it comes too close to the holder.

- Extinguish a candle if it repeatedly smokes, flickers, or the flame becomes too high. The candle isn’t burning properly. Cool, trim the wick, then check       for drafts before relighting.
